“Traveling” is the lead single from Zachary Campos’ latest album The Champion, the final installment in a three-part musical journey. This series began with the album The Underdog, followed by the EP The Challenger, and now concludes with The Champion. The arc of these projects reflects the artist’s personal experiences, including becoming a father to his daughter Penelope and life with his partner, Monique.
The Champion marks Zachary Campos’ last release of the year, as he plans to take a break from music to focus on spending time with his family. Interestingly, “Traveling” was written just 30 minutes before a studio session, inspired by a real-time reflection on his creative process. The song draws heavy influence from Johnny Cash’s American IV: The Man Comes Around and Cash’s autobiography, offering a blend of self-reflection and homage to one of his musical heroes.
