Jehry Robinson’s Strange Music debut album 20/Twenty finds both the artist and the label genre-jumping and bringing us all musical diversity and a really good time.
20/Twenty is filled with boundless energy, life lessons, positive feelings, and heartache to overcome. From the adrenaline-fueled “Daylight,” featuring Tech N9ne, to the more harmonious hip-hop feel on “Follow My Lead,” featuring King Iso, Robinson stands tall with indie hip hops most loved.
A tropical reggae vibe and sway highlight his gentle vocals on “In My Feels,” and the bright and sparkling “Closer To The Sun.” Whether it be the emotionally charged message of “Daddy Issues” featuring Jelly Roll, the rock-tinged “Disagree,” the singer-songwriter leaning “Michael” or the island feels of “Earthquakes,” “No Refunds,” and “Impatient,” he effortlessly jumps from genre to genre. Everything concludes on “Say Less” featuring Justina Valentine.
In addition to his new full-length debut Robinson has already collaborated with label mates Tech N9ne, Joey Cool, Krizz Kaliko, JL, and King Iso. He also introduced three EP’s, 20/Twenty Chapter 1, 20/Twenty Chapter 2, and 20/Twenty Chapter 3, with all garnering spots on iTunes charts. The songs on 20/Twenty have racked up nearly 2 million cumulative streams and views and it feels like we will be hearing much more from the all-encompassing Brooklyn based Robinson.
For most, 2020 the year has been a bonified shit-show…20/Twenty from Jehry Robinson, like a cool breeze makes it all a bit more bearable.
