In conversation with author and Counselor Prudence Hatchett

Prudence Hatchett

Just Fame recently got a chance to interview Author Prudence Hatchett in regard to her book Plan A Life You Love. We got insights into her book, her valuable advice on mental health and much more!

Welcome! How are you doing?

I’m doing well today, Thank you. I am really excited to spread the word about my new book anthology, “Plan A Life You Love.”

Your new book shares empowering and transformative tips. What inspired you to write this book, and how did you approach writing about topics on wealth, health and happiness?

My new book is an anthology that includes 9 additional female authors. My chapter is titled, The Journey to Discovering the Life You Love. In a world that often demands more than it gives, finding balance and joy in life can seem like a daunting task. Yet, in the book “Planning a Life You Love,” the authors offer a roadmap to not just surviving but thriving. This book is a guide to building a life filled with health, happiness, confidence, love, and self-growth. It’s a reminder that the life you desire is within your reach, and with thoughtful planning and intentional action, you can build a life that you truly love. The approach is to encourage and inspire others to live out loud. We believe that life is meant to be a place of beauty and love. We can learn to live each day with purpose and passion by reading one chapter at a time.

As both an author and a National Certified Counselor, how do you see writing as a tool for mental health and personal growth?

Writing is a tool I use to help me reach a wider and diverse audience. I help individuals strengthen their mental health and emotional resilience through education, strength exploration, and confidence-building. My guidance empowers others to reshape thought patterns, allowing them to break free from negativity and achieve greater fulfillment and happiness.

Your work as a Counselor focuses on helping others improve their mental health and well-being. How has your own journey impacted your approach to counseling, and what lessons have you learned that you bring to your clients?

When helping others, I not only incorporate my knowledge of human behavior learned through my educational background, but also strategies and techniques that I personally have utilized in my own life. I have become more aware of my true self and understand that growth and healing is an inside job. Strategies that have helped me along the way include SMART goal setting, self-discipline, confidence building, and developing a healthy self-care plan.

What advice would you give to someone who is struggling with mental health challenges and considering seeking professional help?

I most definitely would encourage them to seek the help they need. They can start by gaining information from their doctor/primary care practitioner, contacting their insurance for a referral, reviewing their employer’s policy on Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and or doing a Google search for counselors in their areas and contacting them directly.

Lastly, as we ask all our guests on our platform, do you have any closing thoughts that you would like to share with the world and our readers?

“Planning a Life You Love” is more than just a book; it’s a blueprint for creating a life filled with health, happiness, and confidence. I want to help others find their own fulfillment and joy in life so they can step into who they were always meant to be with intention, purpose, and love.
