Featured: Interview with artist Jiyar

“The border and political division of countries does not affect a musician like me . My music is floating across the world and between different cultures.” – Jiyar.

Jiyar

Just Fame got a chance to interview Artist Jiyar. We got insights into his new songs, the creative process that he follows, his favorite artists and much more!

Q. First of all, welcome! How are you doing?

Jiyar: I am doing great. Thanks!

Q. Please tell our readers how did you embark on this journey of becoming a musician?

Jiyar: It dated back to when I was very young, I learned to play piano all by myself when I was 2 years old. After that I got some academic courses to learn it in a professional way. I dreamt of producing background music for films and theatres. But because of my difficult financial situation and other problems, I could not embark on that journey. After that, I learnt coding and software development. The codes on computer were like the notes in music for me! Technology is merged with music and now I think I can merge the technological aspect of my profession with music. For many years I was working privately. Finally I decided to embark on the journey and fortunately am here today with all my ability and looking forward to advance and progress in music industry. Computer technology and music can produce beautiful songs!

Q. Your new songs Chagrin d’automne (Autumn Grief) and Infinite Love are now streaming on Spotify. Please share how did you come across the idea for these tracks?

Jiyar: Autumn Grief is an old Iranian song by “IRAJ MAHDIYAN” and I sang it and dedicated it to my family and friends when I was 13. I could recall I used it as a background music for a theatre and I even won an award for it in a festival. I decided to remix it in a unique way and released it publicly. I asked Lady CANDICE to sing it as a duet with me. I believe her voice has very heavenly vibe attached to it. We also got good comments for our duets. I listened to the song many times then I finally realized it was my first dream that came true.

“Infinite love” is my second single track , My first track was slow and I think it was a good idea to produce a happy love song.

Q. What exactly is the creative process that you follow while making your music and especially the process that you followed while you were working on Infinite Love?

Jiyar: Normally it started with a simple melody. Then I got help from my composer who is my friend and he made a partiture for it. This was the beginning of the journey. And right from the start till the end it was full of challenges and we had to change it many times. This made my composer angry but I was very patient and believed we will make it. After listening to it numerous times and checking all the technical and dramatical points, I released the single.

Q. Your music has a unique blend of Persian and French music culture. Please share your thoughts on it.

Jiyar: I believe French is language of love, French language is automatically musical and I felt my romantic song is better when using it. My song does not belong to any geographical location, I follow the global ideas in my songs. The border and political division of countries does not affect a musician like me . My music is floating across the world and between different cultures. And my song is a romantic love song.

Q. Who are your favorite artists and why?

Jiyar: My favorite artist is Charlie Chaplin! He was not just a cinema actor or comedian, he was also a Philosopher, He was a Prophet. We can see that his movies does not belong to UK. His movies can bring a smile on anyone around the world and it can change their vision of life too.

Q. Personally, what motivates you and what inspires you in your life?

Jiyar: A beautiful smile could inspire me to make a melody, even a scene of a cartoon can inspire me!

Q. Any tips or advice for the young aspiring musicians?

Jiyar: Leave the mechanical life. Try to see the different types of people who are living around you, the rich and the poor. The legends in marvel are not there in real life, try to work on your real personality. Try to not think just about yourself, but also help other people so that they can live a better life. Even it could happen with a small melody with a piccolo.

Q. What lies ahead for you in the coming years? What next?

Jiyar: I am trying to achieve all my goals that I planned for years. I will release more single tracks in the market. And maybe I will get ready to start a tour around the world in 6 months.

Q. Lastly, do you have any closing thoughts that you would like to share with the world and our readers?

Jiyar: JIYAR is living for you. I will be the sound of your heart. You are all my brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers. I love you and producing music which you will love is my top most priority.

About the artist: JIYAR was born on May 4, 1976 in Tabriz-IRAN. He is an actor, singer and songwriter. Due to the situation of his country’s music market, he started working as a Software Developer.
